Wow, Sasha plays completely uninspired, bland, mediocre crap even when he doesn’t know he’s being recorded? Who knew!?

i don’t get this ar-pi-ar business; what is the appeal? i find it flat, directionless, monotonous, lacking build, tension, no discernible climax in the set; just a series of tunes strung together without any apparent logic; villalobos’ enfants is used horribly - drops with no impact - it just floats into the mix. stale and bland set. these guys sure are getting alot of favorable press. i haven’t been able to understand it yet. someone please inform me as to wherein lies the brilliance?

AWFULL! Total lack of inspiration. I am at start not a fan of Sasha but after all the articles on web for his US tour I decided to have a listen again. Hahahaha it S*CK’s big time.

  7. junkster Says:

after hearing this, i’m not surprised sasha doesn’t want his sets recorded. i’d be embarrassed too.

This “tech house/ techno shite”….and I have been listening to club music for over 20 yrs, it is completely ruining the vibe that dance music once had. I can tell you that the only reason it is so popular is that a spotty 22 yr old with a crack copy of reason/ableton/SX/Logic.can drum this crap up in a matter of minutes……..and quality house music is way too difficult to produce for them………chord progressions/cadence/ moving basslines.etc……this music is sustaining the club industry, but it is bland, Un emotive, Un musical .and totally without soul of any kind.

Bring back proper house music……Ooh and Sasha’s sets are only worth listening too, If your off your trolley and actually in the club!!!…end of.

thanks for listening, youve been a great crowd!

  9. daniel Says:

anyone know the name of the vocal at the 35 min mark

  10. David V Says:

Oh yes, “Sasha sucks so much”, i wonder why he is famous and all of you guys are not, the world is completely wrong.

Daniel: i was wondering the same, i think it’s a remix of a track by Ladytron, but i don’t know the name of the track not the remixer either.

  11. RC Says:

    Ally mac is right.

  12. jamie Says:

to be honest from reading the posts above all i can see is that a lot of you all seem ‘too cool for school’

ally mac: mate if you’ve been dancing to electronic music for 20 years then i would have thought that you might have realised by now that music changes, it evolves. This is purely an evolution of what you know as ‘proper house music’

as for people not understanding it then i’m guessing that your deciding this either from the set above or from the swathes of ‘minimal’ out there at the moment. Yes i agree some of it is boring, but some of it is pure genius. Whoever said whatever they said about villalobos needs educating. next time take the time to listen to the intricacies of his music (well at least some of it ;)). as for chord progression listen to mathew jonson.

i reckon you need to get back into some stinking field somewhere where people are banging out techno techno techno techno. Clearly in a year or two (possibly now) you’ll be saying ‘it’s not as good as it was’ ‘this music killed the scene’ expand your horizons and try embracing it.

god some people have nothing better to do than post on stupid pages like this. i’m way to busy for that…. :)

I totally agree with toonhead. really boring set. there’s nothing there that would make me go on the dance floor. maybe they are better at spinning separately, but they (RPR) don’t work well together. something doesn’t click. I’ve heard pedro can be a riot though… he’s the real talent there.
