Embarking on their 7th season, secretsundaze remains one of the most innovative, exciting and fun places to be for house and techno heads and party people alike. Utilising numerous risque and often open-air venues, they have hosted some of the most colourful parties that London has seen. With their stylish, hedonistic crowd and their attention to detail on the production side, the parties now have the reputation as being the place that Europe’s finest underground DJs want to play at. Over the years, the likes of Ame, Ricardo Villalobos, Carl Craig, Trevor Jackson, Luciano, Dan Ghenacia and Steve Bug have all graced the decks.

Not only have their parties become one of the most successful events in London, they’re also found hosting packed arenas at popular festivals such as: TDK Cross Central, Lovebox, Wildchild and Bloom. secretsundaze have also made a marked impact in Europe with highly memorable daytime/outdoor parties in Ibiza, Barcelona (Sonar), The Garden Party Croatia  and Snowbombing in Austria. Club wise secretsundaze parties have toured extensively to many of the world’s most revered venues such as Panorama Bar (Berlin) The Robert Johnson (Frankfurt), Club 11 (Amsterdam), The Rex (Paris) Magazzini Generali (Milan), Soylanka (Moscow), and City Hall (Barcelona) to name just a few.

Tobi Neumann is without doubt one of the most respected producers and DJs in the modern underground house and techno scene. He has a long standing association with Sven Vath’s Cocoon empire through releasing on their label. He is also one of the most respected artists on their booking agency. His DJing has taken him the world over with regular slots at The Love Parade, Timewarp Festival, Cocoon in Ibiza, Panorama Bar and Weekend in Berlin (where he currently holds a residency), Fabric and of course secretsundaze in London. On the production front he has a strong catalogue through his remixes and engineering, for the likes of Miss Kittin, Chicks on Speed, 2 Raumwohnung, Ricardo Villalobos and Dinky.

“The first time I heard about secretsundaze was from Ricardo and Luciano in 2005. They both told me that it was the BEST Sunday day-party; done with love and passion, with a great crowd and super exclusive. I first met Giles, James and Kristophe in Ibiza in 2005 on Cala Jondal (where they were holding a secretsundaze party also) and first played for them at Sonar in 2006. My personal highlight so far was secretsundaze at TDK Crosscentral in August 2007. We had the best floor; half open air, no non-smoking policy and a lot of friends around us.  This was really massive. Also I joined Secretsundaze and friends at a theatre in London this march. It was also nice.

I like Secretsundaze for being so enthusiastic and well organized in doing nice parties. They make very good promotion for their parties, for the guests and themselves. Sweet boys who created a great brand, which stays for good music. As we all know, good and tasty choice of electronic music should be the priority, and that’s what they offer.

About my mix: I like to choose special, timeless tracks for my mixes. Tracks which I collect over the year but which are not used from me every weekend in my ‘main time’ sets so much. I wanted to create a musical home and car-listening proofed mix, which has a flow - my flow and my own idea about groove - just not too fast. I hope that I’ve chosen a good collection of timeless tracks for my secretsundaze mix, a selection which people will still want to listen to in a couple of years.” - Tobi Neumann

Giles and James have been hugely impressed by Tobi’s DJ sets at secretsundaze, which have always displayed maturity in track selection and strong programming. Such skills made him an obvious choice to mix this new series.

secretsundaze presents Tobi Neumann is a great second release for the label and truly represents what is happening within forward thinking underground house and techno in 2008. The mix perfectly captures the resurgence of more groovy, jackin US house which now sits comfortably alongside more electronic European offerings. Once again secretsundaze demonstrate that they are at the forefront of cutting edge dance music and this compilation will further cement their reputation as a serious force to be reckoned with.
